Google now allows you to make calls via Gmail

Google Workspace is a place that quickly gathers a variety of information in one place and can be able to share it with a small group or entire organization. The features include calendars, presentations, attachments, text, and video. Now, the latest update of Google Workspace is the company implement the call feature to Gmail app.

According to sources, the call feature can work on smartphones, laptops, or even tablets to have one-on-one calls. This feature allows the users to make a call by clicking on the email address, and it works like other VoIP apps that can make a direct voice call or one-on-one video call. Soon the future, the Google Meet app also will add the same feature to create group meetings or make phone calls.
