Do you know Google Assistant can help you to purchase movie tickets? Not only that, you can just do it with using your voice. How does it work you may ask, it all thanks to Google Duplex, a human-sounding AI-based voice service. Now, Google Duplex can be used on the web to buy movie tickets! However, the feature is only available in the US and the UK for now.

Google Duplex was first announced in May 2018’s Google I/O. The service gained a lot of attention for its intelligence by mimicking human’s voice to call restaurants and book your tables. It even knows how to add in words like ‘umm’, ‘ahh’ and pause breaks to make the receivers feel comfortable when in a conversation with the AI voice.

For purchasing movie tickets, just ask Google Assistant to show you the available showtimes for the movie you want to watch. Later, follow the instructions to choose the theater, select the seats, complete your purchase then you’re good to go. This saves a lot of time as it automatically fills in the information such as your credit card info (if you've given permission to it) so you don't have to type that 16-digit number all over again.

The AI service is really making people’s lives easier by offering features that you don’t even know that you’ll need one day. We believe Google Duplex will become smarter by allowing you to do things like booking Grab, make haircut reservations and even help you to chat with someone else (even though it’s creepy) as time goes by.
