If you prefer watching YouTube on your TV, here's some news you might be interested in. Watching content on TVs and smartphones feels very different. That's why Google has been exploring unique features for YouTube TV users, such as Multiview.

Multiview is now officially out

For those unaware, Google has been testing the Multiview feature for YouTube TV since last year. The feature was available only for channels such as BBC News, CNN, Fox News, ESPN, and more. As the term implies, Multiview allows YouTube TV to simultaneously watch up to four channels (in a 2x2 grid).

However, the feature is now officially out for YouTube TV. It also supports all of the platform's channels, albeit only for live content. Video on Demand (VOD), Digital Video Recorder (DVR) and, funny enough, selected family-friendly content are not currently supported. Multiview will be made available to all YouTube TV users in batches over the coming weeks.

Still not in Malaysia

Although the Multiview feature sounds interesting, there is a problem we have to note. First, YouTube TV isn't the standard YouTube app on smart TVs. It's an online streaming service similar to Netflix, currently exclusive to the US, available on smart TVs and mobile devices. Google could port the Multiview feature to its YouTube app for TV users, but hasn't announced any plans to do so.

Having said that, Multiview is definitely a great feature for people who want to watch multiple sports games in tandem. But what do you think? Let us know in the comments below, and stay tuned to TechNave for more news like this.
