Google plans to add Gemini features to earphones

Last week, Google officially announced a rebrand for its AI platform. Google Bard is now Gemini. Of course, it works mostly the same. But sources claim Google plans to expand it to devices outside PCs and smartphones.

According to 9to5Google, Google will add Gemini support to selected audio devices. Hints were found in the latest beta of the Google App version 15.6. A line in the app source reads: "Gemini mobile app is working on expanding availability to make it accessible on your headphones".

From what we understand, the idea is for Gemini to replace Google Assistant. Once implemented, users should be able to use gestures or buttons on supported headphones or earphones to activate Gemini. It's unclear what features Gemini will help with when used with a pair of earphones, but we can expect help with playback, finding music tracks, and more.
