Google is developing two new types of smart glasses with artificial intelligence that are expected to be launched in 2026. So, what should you know about it?
For a more stylish and comfortable design
For your information, the first model comes without a display and uses built-in speakers, microphones and cameras to allow you to interact with Google Gemini directly, including taking pictures and getting information about their surroundings.
In addition, the second model adds an in-lens display that can show navigation, live translation and other important information. Both rely on a smartphone for processing and use the Android XR platform. Google is also working with Samsung on hardware development and with Warby Parker and Gentle Monster to ensure a more stylish design that is comfortable to wear all day long.
Moreover, this launch is expected to heat up the competition in the AI wearable market, especially with existing products from Meta and rumours that Apple is also planning to introduce smart glasses as early as 2026. With the combination of Gemini AI and premium design, Google looks set to give tough competition in this category.
