New features are added to Google Chrome all the time but the one that's revealed recently seems more interesting than most. According to folks at Android Police, Google is testing out a new picture-in-picture mode for Chrome that is connected to the new media controls.

For those who are unaware, Google Chrome now has a button that appears on the browser UI, allowing you to control the video playing in the background. Using it, you can play or pause a video, skip to the next video, or jump straight to the tab where the video is. By the way, you can also control playback for Chrome using physical media control buttons on your keyboard if you have them.

Anyway, Google is looking to add a picture-in-picture button to the small media control interface. By clicking on it, you should be able to get the video to pop out and overlay itself on the browser. Long story short, you get to watch the video while surfing on other tabs at the same time. Android Police managed to test the feature and mentioned that it works with YouTube.

We're not sure when this feature will be added but if you're interested in giving it a try, you can download the Canary version of Google Chrome.
