Heard a new song or tune on the streets but can't identify it? Previously, most people would use Shazam and call it a day. But if you want an alternative, Google has released its own Shazam-like feature.

Yesterday, Google announced five new Android features that focus on helping users with audio-related content. Of course, this includes music tracks and songs. With the update, Android users can now use Circle to Search to search for music or sound tracks. Currently, only certain phones like the Galaxy S24 series or Galaxy Z Fold6 have access to this feature.

To initiate the audio search, you first long press the home button to activate Circle to Search. Next, tap on the new music button and let the AI listen to the tune or song being played in your immediate area. Once done, you should get a results page with the track or song's name, lyrics, and links to relevant YouTube videos if there are any.

The other features include improvements to the TalkBack screen reader app, web page reading for Google Chrome on mobile, an earthquake alert system (for US only), and offline Google Maps for Wear OS smartwatches. If you want to know more, check the official announcement.

Anyway, what do you think of the addition to Circle to Search? Would you use it or stick to Shazam? Let us know in the comments and stay tuned to TechNave for more news like this.
