Google will not remove full-length URLs on Google Chrome
Initially, Google planned on full removing full-length URLs on Google Chrome, showing only the domain name instead. Google’s justification was that removing full-length URLs will make it much easier for users to not get scammed as it’s easier to spot any red flags on in the URL.
However, it seems that Google has decided not to implement the change due to user disapproval. With that being said, Google plans to roll out an update to revert the search to how it was before Google implemented the shorten URL experiment.
