Google will reportedly release the first developer preview of Android 15 tomorrow

Google will reportedly release its developer preview of Android 15 tomorrow (15 February), making it the public’s first glimpse into the upcoming OS. Revealed by a Google developer in a comment, read on to find out more. 

As shared by GSMArena, a Google developer shared the information on the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) page recently. Internally, Android 15 is known as Android V (Vanilla Ice Cream).

The date tomorrow is a week later than when the first developer preview of Android 14 last year, hence the timing is pretty logical. As for features, the new OS is expected to feature “Private Spaces”, which allows users to lock some apps from appearing in their app list. 

Moreover, Lock Screen widgets are also expected to return. The developer preview will be available for Google Pixel 6 series and newer.
