Got an email from Maybank? That could be a FAKE email

Scams and phishing are on the rise these days. Given how advanced technology is nowadays, it can be difficult to separate between false alerts and genuine emails from your bank. That said, Maybank just released a statement regarding a fake Maybank email.

According to Maybank’s post on Facebook, there has been a fake email circulating asking customers to share their login details and credit card information. The company also advised you to not click on any suspicious links sent via emails, chats or SMSes. On top of that, the bank reminds you to never share your username or password.

In addition, Maybank will never share any links for you to click or ask for your personal banking details. It also advised you to never share your TAC or OTP. These precautions are important in preventing scams and fraud. Therefore, it is best to keep your personal details to yourself and never share them recklessly.
