As the weeks go on, increasingly more people are anxious to get back to work. Despite many industries being allowed to do so with the conditional movement control order (CMCO), filming activities were not able to do so. Now, our government has confirmed that the filming industry will be able to resume activities after Hari Raya.

According to Bernama, Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah confirmed that official approval was given during the National Security Council meeting yesterday. This means that companies will now be allowed to conduct video shoots for TV shows, documentaries, or advertisements after Hari Raya. The decision was made after consulting with the various associations involved.

However, Datuk Saifuddin also said that strict standard operating procedures (SOPs) will need to be adhered to. The SOPs have not been confirmed yet, but the government will take great care in examining the proposed SOPs that were already submitted last week. In other words, we can probably expect the SOPs to be announced in the next few days.

It great to see that more industries being allowed to operate again. Perhaps cinemas will soon be allowed to operate again and we can go back to our movie nights, albeit with severe restrictions?
