Grab has now announced that it has invested in a self-driving-focused company called WeRide. In parallel with this strategic investment, Grab will also drive the introduction and commercialisation of robo-taxis in the Southeast Asia region. So, what should you know about it?

For your information, Grab says it is their mission to ensure everyone in Southeast Asia has access to transportation at any time, and today, one of the constraints is labour.
Thanks to the implementation of robo-taxis, this issue is expected to be overcome and offer more efficient transportation to users.
Moreover, Grab and WeRide will also collaborate on various operational and technical matters, as well as more parallel management integration within Grab.
Additionally, Grab targets the investment in WeRide to be fully completed by the first half of 2026. Unfortunately, the value of the investment was not disclosed at this time.
