For your information, this acquisition comes after Grab acquired Jaya Grocer about two years ago. Everrise's supermarket chain is more concentrated in Sarawak, with one branch in Sabah. Established in 1993, it has over 19 supermarkets with a concept focused on premium groceries.
With this acquisition, it will further strengthen Grab's grocery offerings, especially in Sabah and Sarawak. We may see Everrise's grocery offerings optimised for Sarawakian consumers in the near future, alongside the company's digital optimisation of its operations.
