GrabFood is undeniably one of the most popular food delivery services in Malaysia. The food delivery service has saved us a lot of time and effort when we’re looking for food. Now, Grab has announced they would be raising their delivery fee from a fixed RM5 up to RM9.

The reason for collecting a higher fee is due to GrabFood trying to expand its service area so customers can order from a wider variety of restaurants. With that being said, the distance becomes an issue to be taken into consideration. The new rule being implemented is to compensate the riders better for travelling longer distances.

Other than that, Grab is also putting a stop on all its monthly subscription plans and Deluxe GrabFood Plan starting from 13 December 2019. The Deluxe GrabFood Plan offers 15 free deliveries, three RM10 coupons, and a 40% discount voucher. Unfortunately, it’s coming to an end. However, current subscribers can still renew their plans for one last time and being offered a 50% discount coupon (capped at RM20).

For the increasing of the delivery fee, Grab has stated it will only last for a while as it is still re-evaluating the customers’ needs. Let us know what you think about this news on our Facebook page! For more local tech news, stay tuned on TechNave.com.
