As advertised, Rockstar Games has finally unveiled the trailer of Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) albeit ahead of schedule. Nevertheless, we were treated to the next-gen game of the franchise with photorealistic graphics and the launching date has been announced for 2025.

According to Take-Two Interactive, the publisher of Rockstar Games, GTA 6 is set for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S gaming consoles on the aforementioned date. There's no word for the PC or Nintendo Switch counterpart although we very much doubt the latter can handle such graphics.

GTA 6 is also confirmed to be an open-world video game. The setting of the game will take place at the "state of Leonida, home to the neon-soaked streets of Vice City and beyond". From the looks of it, this is Rockstar Games' most immersive evolution of the GTA franchise yet.

While we still have a full year plus to wait, Rockstar Games will be celebrating its 25th anniversary this month. The GTA series is one of the studio's biggest gaming hits, particularly GTA 5 for selling over 190 million units to date. It has also been announced that the GTA: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition is launching on Netflix Games in December 2023
