Apple’s MacBook lineup has undergone significant changes over the years, the most notable being the company’s transition to its own Apple Silicon SoCs. However, one thing that remains constant is the lack of a touchscreen but that may change soon.

According to famed tipster Mark Gurman, Apple is currently working on producing a MacBook Pro with a touchscreen that will be released in two years’ time. Writing in his Bloomberg column, Gurman alleged that the MacBook Pro will ‘likely’ run macOS and would still have the same laptop design as current MacBooks.

Furthermore, the tipster’s sources claimed that the touchscreen MacBook Pro would incorporate gestures and display taps. The touch input may also include other Mac models over time, though according to Gurman, there are no current plans from the tech giant to combine macOS with iPadOS.

Of course, do take this information with a grain of salt as nothing is confirmed as of yet. If it turns out to be true, it will most certainly be welcomed by most macOS users as a touchscreen is a feature that many have been asking for Apple to include on the MacBook.
