Apple is reportedly working on multiple new external monitors that are powered by Apple Silicon, including a new version of the Apple Pro Display XDR. This is according to reliable tipster and tech insider Mark Gurman.

Writing in his popular Power On newsletter on Bloomberg, Gurman said that the tech giant has several “new external monitors in development”, including a new Pro Display DR that would be paired with a new Mac Pro. However, given that the Mac Pro has yet to be released, this display may only be announced after the Mac Pro’s launch.

Besides that, Gurman shared that these new external displays will feature Apple Silicon SoCs inside of them so that “the screen rely less on resources from the attached computer”. In Apple’s previous external monitor the Studio Display, there’s an A13 Bionic chip inside and 64GB of storage, so Apple putting processors inside their monitors isn’t actually something new.

Nevertheless, it’s intriguing to see what these “multiple new displays” would look like, their sizes, specs and more importantly, their prices. What do you guys think? Share your thoughts with us in the comments below and stay tuned to TechNave for more trending tech news such as this!
