Apple has long been rumoured to refresh its iPad Pro lineup with the M2 SoC found on the latest MacBook Air and MacBook Pro 13. Now, acclaimed tech insider Mark Gurman has claimed that the new M2-powered iPad Pro models will be coming in a ‘matter of days’.

Writing in his latest Power On newsletter on Bloomberg, Gurman said that both the iPad Pro 11-inch and iPad Pro 12.9-inch versions will get the upgrade to the M2 SoC, which are given the codenamed J617 and J620 respectively. However, the release of the new iPad Pro lineup won’t be made during an event but may just be announced via press releases or an update on the Apple official website.

The launch of the new M2-powered iPad Pro models may also coincide with the release of iPadOS 16.1, which Gurman claims will be heading to supported iPads on the week of 24 October 2022. Accordingly, the Stage Manager feature on the new iPad Pro models should be really impressive given the SoC that is powering them.

However, do take this information with a grain of salt as nothing is confirmed as of yet. Well, only a few days left for us to find out for sure anyway.
