Despite it only being October, it looks like Apple has already finished with its product releases for the year and will only be launching new products in 2023. This is according to reliable tipster Mark Gurman who also revealed that Apple will be releasing M2-based MacBook Pro 14-inch and 16-inch laptops in the first quarter of 2023.
Writing in the latest edition of his Power On newsletter on Bloomberg, Gurman said that among the planned releases to take place in Q1 2023 are the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro, Mac mini and the highly-anticipated Mac Pro. He further elaborated that Apple has decided to wait until next year to release these products as the tech giant’s current lineup is all set for the holiday season in the United States.

Gurman asserted, “I’m told that Apple is aiming to introduce the upgraded models - including M2-based versions of the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros - in the first quarter of calendar 2023,”. Both MacBook Pro models are expected to feature a beefed-up version of the M2 Apple Silicone introduced by Apple in the new MacBook Air and 13-inch MacBook Pro.
If the company keeps its current naming scheme for its SoC, the new chips should be called M2 Pro and M2 Max. Besides that, Apple is also rumoured to introduce new “M2 Extreme” and “M2 Ultra” chipsets on the Mac Pro, its most powerful Apple Silicone yet.
