After days of teasers, HONOR officially introduced the Magic 8 Pro Air. It is positioned as a compact flagship in a smaller form factor with top-tier hardware and display technology. Here's everything you need to know about the display, chipset, camera system and everything else.
The HONOR Magic 8 Pro Air Tech Specs
The Magic 8 Pro Air kicks off one of the most striking aspects: its physical design. The phone measures 150.5mm in length, 71.9mm in width and just 6.1mm in thickness. With a weight of approximately 155 grams, including the battery, it ranks among the lightest and thinnest flagship smartphones currently available. With a 6.31-inch OLED display with 2640 x 1216 pixels resolution, 10.7 billion colour output covering the DCI P3 wide colour gamut, and up to 6000 nits peak brightness, it also has 4320Hz ultra-high frequency PWM dimming and a full suite of HONOR Oasis Eye Protection features, including AI adaptive brightness.

Powered by a Dimensity 9500 chipset, it is accompanied by the company's own OS Turbo X and GPU Turbo X optimisations for sustained performance. A dedicated AI key on the side highlights the phone’s software direction. MagicOS 10, based on Android 16, introduces deep system-level AI features such as YOYO intelligent assistant, Magic Text, real-time translation, AI subtitles, face swap detection and system-wide smart recommendations. Productivity features like multi-screen collaboration, desktop mode and parallel space are also built in.
Photography is handled by a triple rear camera system led by a 50MP main sensor with optical image stabilisation. It is joined by a 50MP ultrawide camera that also supports macro shooting and a 64MP periscope telephoto lens offering 3.2x optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom, again with OIS support. The camera system supports 4K video recording at up to 60fps, and the 50MP front camera supports 4K video recording as well, along with electronic stabilisation and stereo audio capture.

Despite its compact size, the Magic 8 Pro Air packs a 5500mAh battery with support for 80W wired SuperCharge and 50W wireless fast charging. Reverse wireless charging is also supported, and the phone includes intelligent charging modes to optimise battery health over time. Finally, the device is rated for both IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance.
Storage Options and Final Positioning
HONOR offers the Magic 8 Pro Air in multiple configurations, ranging from 12GB of RAM with 256GB of storage up to a top-end 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage variant. The starting price is 4999 Yuan (~RM2.9K), and goes all the way up to 5999 Yuan (~RM3.5K).
At the moment, it is only available in the Chinese market. We already have the Magic 8 Pro here in Malaysia, so we can only assume the Air variant will be launching here. Until then, we have to wait for an official announcement by HONOR Malaysia. Stay tuned for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
