HONOR Magic V2 series release - World’s slimmest folding phone from ~RM5764

HONOR has released its latest flagship folding smartphone, the HONOR Magic V2 series. At 9.9mm in its folded state and 4.7mm when unfolded, it’s the slimmest foldable device to date and comprises the Magic V2 and Magic V2 Ultimate. 

Under the hood, the Magic V2 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC paired with up to 12GB RAM and up to 512GB storage while the Magic V2 Ultimate comes in up to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage. Besides that, the series also features a 5000mAh battery with support for 66W charging.

The main feature is of course the folding primary screen, which is a 7.92-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a resolution of 2156 x 2344 pixels, 1600 nits peak brightness in auto mode and HDR10+. Meanwhile, the outer screen is a 6.43-inch 120Hz OLED panel with a resolution of 2376 x 1060 pixels and 2500 nits peak brightness in auto mode. 

As for cameras, the Magic V2 series has a 50MP main + 50MP ultra-wide + 20MP telephoto triple camera setup at its rear. The 16MP selfie camera is housed in a punch-hole cutout of the main display. Other notable specs of the Magic V2 series include stylus support, 231g weight and dual SIM.

In China, the Magic V2 is available in Black, Silk Black, Silk Purple and Gold colours and is priced at CNY8999 or ~RM5764 (12/256GB), CNY9999 or ~RM6404 (12/512GB). Meanwhile, the Magic V2 Ultimate is available in Black (PU) at CNY11999 or ~RM7685 (16GB/1TB).
