HONOR Play 8T release - Dimensity 6080 SoC, 6000mAh battery and 50MP main camera from ~RM713

HONOR has launched a new offering in the affordable smartphone segment in China, the HONOR Play 8T. Featuring some compelling specs at its price, read on to find out more about the device. 

First up, the Play 8T is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6080 chipset paired with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. Under the hood, there’s also a massive 6000mAh battery which supports 35W charging via the USB-C port.

As for the display, it’s a 6.8-inch IPS LCD panel with a Full HD+ resolution, 850 nits peak brightness and a punch-hole cutout at its top centre which houses the 8MP selfie shooter. Meanwhile, at the rear is a 50MP main + 2MP depth dual-camera setup. 

Other notable specs include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, Android 13 OS via Magic OS 7.2, stereo dual speakers, 5G connectivity and colour options of either black, silver or green. In China, the Play 8T is priced at CNY1099 or ~RM713 for the 8/256GB variant and CNY1299 or ~RM843 for the 12/256GB configuration.
