Rumours of the new HONOR Power phone have been circulating around lately. Well, the company today unveiled the phone, literally called the HONOR Power. It was launched in China, so while we don't know if it will come to Malaysia, here's what we know about it so far.
To begin, the HONOR Power is a mid-range tier device, sporting a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset, accompanied by up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. Running on MagicOS 9.0 based on Android 15, it has a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with good features. This includes 2700 x 1224 pixels resolution, HDR support, over 1 billion DCI-P3 wide colour gamut, a 120Hz refresh rate and 3,840Hz PWM dimming.
Also on the display, there lies the 16MP front camera, while the back is a dual rear camera setup with a 50MP OIS and a 5MP ultrawide camera. Of course, the highlight of the phone from the previous reports is the battery. True enough, it sports an 8,000mAh battery with 66W Super Fast Charge technology. According to HONOR, the phone is capable of lasting up to 25 hours of video playback.
There are three memory configurations of the HONOR Power device, you can refer to the models below with the price tag for each:
- 8GB + 256GB - 1,999 Yuan (~RM1.2K)
- 12GB + 256GB - 2,199 Yuan (~RM1.3K)
- 12GB + 512GB - 2,499 Yuan (~RM1.5K)
Yesterday, HONOR teased a new "budget iPhone killer" device, and it could be the HONOR Power. However, we think that is not the case as there is no correlation between the two. HONOR Power seems to rely on the big battery while the former is marketed as the "Next AI Trend".
