Earlier, the rumours and leaks of the HONOR V40 have been showing up to hint at an imminent launch in December. Unfortunately, that might not be happening as a tipster mentioned that the launch of the V40 series has now been postponed to January 2021.

According to tipster Teme from Twitter, the HONOR V40 series is still developed by HUAWEI and the devices will be the first from HONOR to have a "superzoom" camera. The series is usually expected to be released at this time and the global variant will come sometime at the beginning of the following year. For example, the HONOR V30 was launched in November 2019 and the global variant HONOR 30 came later in April 2020.

It is unsure why the postponement but the source claims that it might have something to do with the trade sanction. No matter it's true or not, HONOR will soon be making smartphones and other products on its own as HUAWEI has sold the brand to another owner. Therefore, not only HONOR will begin to operate individually, but it might also regain the freedom to work with U.S. companies like Google again.
