HONOR X50 release - SD 6 Gen 1 SoC, 120Hz AMOLED and 5800mAh battery from ~RM900

After being in the rumour mills for a while, the HONOR X50 finally launched in China yesterday (5 July 2023). Featuring some compelling specs for its price, read on to find out more about the device. 

First up, the X50 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor paired with up to 16GB RAM and up to 512GB storage. There’s also a 5800mAh battery under the hood with support for 33W charging.

In terms of display, the device sports a 6.78-inch 120Hz AMOLED panel with a resolution of 1200 x 2652 pixels. The screen also has a punch-hole cutout on its top middle to house an 8MP selfie camera, complemented by a 108MP main + 2MP depth dual-camera setup at the rear. 

Other notable specs include an IP53 rating, Android 13 OS via MagicOS 7.1 and colour options of either black, blue, orange or gradient. In China, the X50 starts at CNY1399 or ~RM900 for the 8/128GB variant. As of the time of writing, HONOR has yet to reveal whether the device would be available in other regions outside of China.
