Last night, HONOR unveiled not only one but two new additions to the X Series lineup. Promptly called the HONOR X9c 5G and the X7c 4G, the phones' starting prices are RM1,499 and RM699, respectively in the Malaysian market. In this article, we will take a look at the HONOR X9c 5G.
In continuing its durability quality feature, the latest X9c 5G introduces the next generation of HONOR Ultra-Bounce Anti-Drop Technology 2.0 which has a drop resistance from heights up to 2 meters. According to HONOR, this upgraded technology features a 90% increase in shock-absorbing material coverage and a 67% increase in elasticity, offering enhanced protection to the motherboard and camera module.
The device also has new super double-tempered glass and a resistance shield, as well as an IP65M water and dust resistance rating with a three-later protective structure. It's uncommon to see an 'M' rating but it means the phone can resist water exposure even while in motion, withstanding underwater submersion for up to 5 minutes at a depth of 25cm.
Moving on to the tech specs, it has a 6,600mAh Silicon Carbon Battery 2.0 which has up to 48.4 hours of music streaming and 25.8 hours of online video playback. Supporting a 66W wired HONOR SuperChaarge technology, it can also rely on an AI Safe Charging System for power management. There's also a 6.78-inch Eye-comfort OLED Display with 1.07 billion colours, 1.5K resolution, 4,000 nits peak brightness, a 120Hz refresh rate and 3840Hz Risk-free PWM Dimming.
Other notable features include a 108MP Ultra-Sensing Primary Camera with OIS support, a Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset, 24GB of RAM (inclusive of 12GB HONOR RAM Turbo), and a few AI functions powered by MagicOS 8.0 based on Android 14. The AI functions include Magic Portal, AI Eraser, Magic Capsule, AI Blur Private Info, and Parallel Space.
The HONOR X9c 5G is now available for pre-order in Malaysia until 14 November 2024. The device comes in two configurations: 256GB storage priced at RM1,499 and 512GB storage at RM1,699. Both options include a premium gift package with a total gift value of RM1,486 upon full payment. This package includes:
