The HONOR X80 Pro Max was just launched this week with a 11000mAh battery. This is the largest battery capacity HONOR has ever offered in a device. However, leaker Digital Chat Station now says that HONOR is also developing a smartphone with a 14000mAh battery. Rumour says this device is currently in the NPI (New Product Introduction) stage.

We might see this phone sooner than we think

For your information, the company recently launched the HONOR X80 Pro Max in China, which already holds a 11000mAh cell. There were also earlier rumours of a device codenamed Power3 that was expected to feature a 11000mAh to 12000mAh battery. It is highly possible that HONOR decided to upgrade those specifications during the development phase to reach this new 14000mAh threshold.

Thanks to the rapid development of silicon-carbon battery technology, HONOR has managed to keep its high-capacity devices relatively thin and light. For instance, some of its recent large-battery models still weigh in at around 220g. If this 14000mAh phone makes it to the commercial market, it could mean you can finally leave your heavy power banks at home.

As of right now, there is no official confirmation on which smartphone series will feature this battery or when it will be officially launched. Personally, we are interested to see if HONOR could pull this off. If anything, Malaysians would love a smartphone with huge battery capacities that is not too heavy or bulky.
