Recently, HONOR made a robot that broke the world record for a Half-Marathon event in Beijing. That said, what should you know about it?

For your information, this is the second time the race has been held, with human and robot runners combined. Last year, many robots failed to finish their races, with the fastest at the time completing the half-marathon in 2 hours and 40 minutes.

A new milestone for HONOR

However, for 2026, it saw robots developed in China grow rapidly. More than 100 robots participated in this run, including HONOR with their robot. The HONOR robot managed to complete the run in 50 minutes and 26 seconds, which is several minutes faster than the world record holder for humans, Jacob Kiplimo, who recorded a time of 57 minutes and 20 seconds last month.

Moreover, running for this long period of time is part of engineering, which combines several technical skills, including cooling, stability while running, support, etc. In addition to over a hundred robots, the run held every year also sees over 12000 people participate.
