The Ministry of Human Resources (KESUMA) has announced that it will collaborate with HUAWEI to establish Smart Campuses across Malaysia. These campuses will utilise 5G networks and Wi-Fi 7 technology for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions under the ministry.

Its Minister, Steven Sim Chee Keong, was quoted by Bernama as saying that the collaboration is one of the outcomes of the meeting between Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Huawei's top management, including its chairman Liang Hua, in Beijing today. Moreover, the collaboration will establish the HUAWEI Learning Centre, focusing on 5G technology, artificial intelligence (AI), telecommunications, and more courses.

Sim added that this was in line with KESUMA’s public skills training institutions' 'Anak Angkat' programme announced during the recent tabling of Budget 2025. Hence, the Ministry will work closely with the Chinese tech firm so that the initiatives can be implemented as soon as possible.
