Apple Pay officially entered Malaysia in August last year, though not many banks provide support for the feature at launch. Well, some 5 months later, it looks like Apple Pay is getting more traction, with HSBC being the latest bank to integrate the contactless payment feature with its credit cards.
According to HSBC Malaysia’s official website, any personal HSBC/HSBC Amanah Visa and Mastercard credit cards/-i(s) are eligible to use with Apple Pay. In order to add your eligible HSBC credit card to Apple Pay, all you have to do is follow these simple steps:
- Open the ‘Wallet’ app and tap the + in the upper right coner
- Scan card by positioning your HSBC credit ard int he frame, and follow the on-screen instructions
- Make HSBC credit card the default card and you’re good to go!
Meanwhile, on the Apple Watch, you can add your HSBC credit card by opening the Wallet app and tapping ‘Add Card’. As for the iPad or Mac, you need to look for ‘Wallet & Apple Pay’ in your System Preferences to get started.
Besides that, in conjunction with its credit cards’ integration with Apple Pay, HSBC is offering an RM30 cashback after transactionig 5 times using your HSBC credit card with Apple Pay. The promotion runs from now until 31 May 2023 and of course, terms and conditions do apply.
