Thought HTC would just stick to the ultra-niche VR headset market? Guess again, because HTC has decided to launch a direct competitor to the Ray-Beta Meta glasses. The company has launched the HTC VIVE Eagle in Taiwan for NTD 15600 (~RM2190).

Style + function

The HTC VIVE Eagle is a pair of AI glasses designed "for the innovative explorer". This is an ultra-light wearable device, as it weighs under 49g. This is likely thanks to its plastic body, which is available in four different colours: Black, Berry, Coffee, and Grey. Additionally, its electronic components are rather inconspicuous, so most people won't realise it's a wearable.

As you can tell, the VIVE Eagle was made to be stylish. It's also meant to be functional with its many AI features. According to the official product page, the VIVE Eagle has an AI assistant that can translate menus, suggest recipes, and retrieve trending news for you. The AI glasses also have a 12MP ultra-wide that can help take sharp photos or videos.

Local availability unknown

Like VR headsets, AI glasses belong to a niche category. HTC may opt to keep the VIVE Eagle only for selected countries. However, you could still get it shipped over if you're interested enough. Just watch out for those import and shipping fees.
