The new HTC Desire 830 has been announced in Taiwan, featuring a revised front façade, better screen and the inclusion of an optical image stabilization (OIS) system for the 13 megapixel rear main camera.

The phone replaces the Desire 820 in the company's mid-range offerings and is made from plastic in its entirety, so it is clearly made for that price point. Powering the Desire 830 is the MediaTek 830 Helio X10 octacore processor running at 1.5GHz, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of on-board storage.

Differentiating the Desire 830 with its predecessor is the larger 5.5 inch 1080p display. The BoomSound speakers famous with the HTC brand is present in the Desire 830, flanking the screen top and bottom. This means that the music quality of the smartphone should be great for music or media playback.

For imaging, you get a 13 megapixel module at the back, with OIS built-in. The module will help in getting a clearer photo with every snap. On the front, there is a 4 megapixel UltraPixel sensor for selfies.

It is now available in Taiwan for NT$9,990 or about RM 1230. As of today there are no indication that HTC Malaysia will be bringing it into the Malaysian market, but the Desire series is well accepted here, so we may just see it on sale here soon.
