So guess what? HTC has just dropped their official teaser for the HTC U launch. Set on 16 May 2017, it will be live streamed in Taipei at 2pm, New York at 2am, and London at 7am.

Looking at the teaser poster, it’s interesting to see the tagline “Squeeze for the brilliant”. In all honesty, it sounds really weird but something sophisticated at the same time. What is it trying to say? Well, maybe it’s like because it’s using the U series, and having it squeezed is making it look like some form of liquid water, hinting a water resistant feature.

Another feature that the HTC U could have is a capacitive edge sensor, what is that, you ask? Well, according to sources, this feature can detect the user’s grip and gestures on the smartphone; when detected the smartphone then can perform some functions such as a shortcut to a camera or others. Or at least, that’s what the teaser video from their Twitter account is trying to say.

So what do you think of this technology? Is it practical? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned for more HTC news at TechNave.com.
