HUAWEI has held an event today to launch the HUAWEI MateBook X. Apart from the flagship laptop, there are also other new things including the successor of their wireless earphones HUAWEI FreeLace. The next-generation HUAWEI FreeLace Pro has been announced with active noise-cancelling, which is a feature that is quite important for headsets nowadays.

The FreeLace Pro offers dual active noise cancellation with a maximum reduction depth of 40dB and an average noise reduction depth of 25dB. It is also the first earphones to receive China’s A-level certification for headset noise cancellation. Other than that, the earphones offer ambient sound transmission mode as well for users to be aware of environmental noise.

Talking about the audio quality, the earphones house a 14mm large dynamic coil unit that enables it to output improved audio with deep bass and soft treble according to official notes. The three microphones used in the active noise cancellation system will also help in keeping conversation clear on calls. It is said that the FreeLace Pro can survive 5 hours for music playback with only 5 minutes of charging. When fully charged, it can last a day.

The HUAWEI FreeLace Pro is not the kind of truly wireless headphones that people are so keen on these days, but its features are definitely telling us that it's worth a try. It is also good to mention that the earphones now use the integrated 3-point stable structure earplugs to fit users' ears better. They sport a light aesthetic design as well with three colour options which are Obsidian Black, Spruce Green, and Morning White. It will be available for purchase starting from 4 September with a price of 599 Yuan (~RM361) in China.
