HUAWEI launched the HUAWEI Mate 40 series in October this year and the Mate 40 Pro 5G just arrived in Malaysia a few weeks ago. During the press conference, the company did launch another model other than the Mate 40 series which is the Mate 30E Pro 5G. Today, we got the information that the Mate 40 series will have an additional model which will be named the HUAWEI Mate 40E.

According to the source, a device with the model number OCE-AN00 was spotted in the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) on 9 December, and the images appeared to be similar to the standard version of HUAWEI Mate 40. It has a hole-punch curved display in the upper left corner with a red power button and volume rocker on the right side of the phone. It also has a circular triple camera module with the Leica logo on it and an LED flash.

In terms of the tech specs, the HUAWEI Mate 40E is expected to be equipped with a different chipset from the HUAWEI Mate 40, the Kirin 990E 5G chipset which is a 2.86GHz chip and a 6.5-inch OLED curved screen with a resolution of 2376 x 1080. As for the cameras, we are expecting it to come with the same 50MP main camera, 8MP telephoto lens, 16MP ultrawide angle lens on the HUAWEI Mate 40.

Either way, that is all we got for now and there is still no official confirmation on the tech specs and Malaysia pricing for the HUAWEI Mate 40E, so do take this with a pinch of salt.
