New leaked information about the HUAWEI Mate 70 series shows that the Pro model may continue to use a three-hole front camera design, and reveals the similarities and differences between the new generation of HUAWEI Mate flagships and the previous generation of HUAWEI Mate 60 smartphone series.

According to well-known tipster @SetSunaDigital, the HUAWEI Mate 70 Pro is likely to continue the three-hole front camera look first pioneered by the HUAWEI Mate 60 series. The leaked information further shows that the size and position of these holes are similar to those of the HUAWEI Mate 60. It should be noted that it is not clear whether all models in the HUAWEI Mate 70 series will adopt the same design, or whether the company will limit this three-hole design to high-end versions.

Moreover, details suggest that the front design of the HUAWEI Mate 70 Pro will not be much different from the HUAWEI Mate 60 series. However, the device may become thinner and the bezels will become narrower. According to early news, there will also be changes in the display solution.

We have yet to confirm other details on the phone. So, we may have to wait for the official announcement to get the answer. In addition to the Kirin 5G processor, the most eye-catching feature of the HUAWEI Mate 60 series launched by HUAWEI last year is the three-hole design on the screen. HUAWEI has equipped these holes with a 13MP selfie camera and a ToF (time of flight) 3D sensor for judging depth and distance.

With the launch of the Mate 70 series, HUAWEI may use an upgraded front-facing lens solution to enhance recognition functions and close-up shooting capabilities. It will be interesting to see what HUAWEI plans for us.
