Last week, we reported on the leak on a Weibo post by Digital Chat Station on the HUAWEI Mate X2 outlook picture. Yesterday, HUAWEI officially announced it will hold a new product launch conference on 22 February and release the new generation of HUAWEI Mate X2.

According to the international promo poster, it is surely to be having an internal folding solution with Leica jointly made camera lenses. The inward folding approach is expected to eliminate the creases that appeared on the previous flip-out folding mechanism on the HUAWEI Mate X and HUAWEI Mate Xs. It is said to be using a flexible screen on the inside and a hard glass screen on the outside.

It may be sporting HUAWEI’s latest Kirin 9000 chipset with a Leica quad-camera of 50MP main camera, 16MP ultrawide angle lens, 12MP telephoto lens, an 8MP portrait lens and a periscopic lens that supports up to 10x hybrid optical zoom. As for the battery, it will come with a 4400mAh battery.

Either way, there is no official confirmation on the tech specs and Malaysia release dates yet, so do take this with a pinch of salt. But the HUAWEI Mate X2 will be officially launching on 22 February. So stay tuned for more tech news updates on TechNave.com.
