Today, Huawei Malaysia has introduced two new devices aimed at users who value mobility and performance, with the debut of the HUAWEI MatePad Mini and the HUAWEI Watch GT Runner 2. The launch highlights Huawei’s push to deliver compact productivity and advanced fitness tracking through refined hardware and ecosystem integration.
The MatePad Mini Tech Specs and Features
The HUAWEI MatePad Mini measures just 5.2mm thin and weighs approximately 260g. Huawei adopts a 16:10 aspect ratio inspired by traditional books, offering a balanced experience across reading, productivity, and entertainment in both portrait and landscape orientations.
At the front, the device features an 8.8-inch Flexible OLED PaperMatte Display with a 2.5K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, P3 wide colour gamut and reaches up to 1800 nits peak brightness. Huawei combines its X-True display technology with PaperMatte anti-glare capabilities.

Next, Huawei equips the tablet with a 50MP rear camera and a 32MP front camera, positioning it for both content creation and video calls. A 6400mAh battery powers the device, supported by 66W fast charging to minimise downtime and keep users connected throughout the day.
The Watch GT Runner 2 Features
Alongside the tablet, Huawei introduced the Watch GT Runner 2, a smartwatch engineered specifically for runners with a focus on precision tracking and performance insights. The device features advanced multi-system GNSS support, enabling accurate tracking even in challenging environments such as dense cities or forest trails.
A key innovation is the 3D floating antenna system, combining a metal middle frame with a dielectric and titanium bezel to improve signal reception and energy efficiency. This is paired with Huawei’s X-DR positioning algorithm, ensuring continuous and reliable tracking even when signal disruptions occur.

The Watch GT Runner 2 introduces an Intelligent Marathon Mode developed with Eliud Kipchoge and the DSM-Firmenich Running Team. It provides personalised training plans, real-time pacing guidance, and post-run analysis. The smartwatch also includes advanced metrics such as running power, lactate threshold detection, and Running Ability Index, offering deeper insights into performance and recovery.
Built using aerospace-grade titanium alloy, the smartwatch weighs just 34.5g while maintaining durability and water resistance for daily use. It supports over 100 sports modes and offers up to 14 days of battery life, making it suitable for both training and everyday wear.
Price and Availability in Malaysia
The HUAWEI MatePad Mini is priced at RM2199 in Malaysia. Customers who pre-order can receive bundled gifts worth up to RM2014, including accessories, extended warranty, and service benefits. On the other hand, the HUAWEI Watch GT Runner 2 is available at RM1499.
