After Apple ditched the charger in the packaging of the iPhone 12 series, a few other smartphone makers such as Samsung and Xiaomi have also followed in the footsteps. Not only the mentioned brands, but HUAWEI has also taken the charging adapter out from the box of the Nova 8 and Mate 40 series. However, the Chinese company is not doing this mainly for environmental concerns but another reason.
It is claimed that lacking charging chipsets is the reason why HUAWEI took the charger out of the box of the mentioned smartphones as well as other devices with the Kirin 990 chipset. Despite that reason, the chargers still can be freely purchased at the stores so it raises doubts whether the company has recovered from the issue.
According to the source, it is possible for HUAWEI to exclude the charger as well for the upcoming P50 series. To recap, the P50 series is going to set a new camera standard for the smartphone industry by featuring Sony's new Sony IMX800 sensor. Furthermore, the device could also be using another 40MP Sony IMX600 sensor for the wide-angle lens. So, is the charger still important if the device is packed with such powerful tech specs?
