Tri-fold screen technology has been shown for the past few years, but the device was only in prototype form and no real device was introduced. Samsung once showed this technology in 2021 with rumours that it should be launched in 2023. TCL has shown more or less the same concept in 2020. Huawei, however, is rumoured to be launching it soon.
For your information, it is still uncertain if the tri-fold screen phone is a practical device. After all, It's just a tablet with a big screen that can be folded three times to look like a regular phone. It looks cool, could feature the Kirin 9 chip and uses a variety of new technologies for hinges. The screen size is said to reach 10-inches and Huawei may launch it under the Mate series around next September.
Moreover, this could be the first tri-fold screen device.. How much do you think it will cost? The Mate X5 is priced at around RM7400, while last year's Mate X3 in Malaysia was priced at RM8888. If you are interested, you might want to save up for this one.
