HUAWEI HarmonyOS is getting its next upgrade soon, according to one of the company's employees. The last version of the operating system, which is HarmonyOS 2.0, debuted in September 2020 at the Huawei Developer Conference. Therefore, it makes sense for HarmonyOS 3.0 to arrive in this time frame.

Coincidentally, HUAWEI will be hosting its next Developer Conference on 24 October. If the report is accurate, it should be the date for us to see the next iteration of its in-house operating system. Until now, HUAWEI has launched several devices pre-installed with the HarmonyOS, and the most recent one is the Nova 9 series.

Besides the new devices, it's also worth mentioning that the number of users that upgraded to the proprietary operating system has crossed 120 million. The company expected that the overall user base to surpass 300 million by the end of 2021. It looks like HarmonyOS could witness stronger growth in the future, and the company probably wouldn't have to worry about getting GMS back anymore?
