After selling HONOR, it is reported that HUAWEI could be up to selling its premium flagship P and Mate series as well. Due to the US trade ban, the company has been pressured in the smartphone business by facing "a persistent unavailability of technical elements". Therefore, can it be real that the company has come to a point that it needs to sell two of its prestigious smartphone series?

According to a Reuters' report, the Chinese company is currently in early talks to sell the two mentioned smartphone series. However, the report has later been proved false by HUAWEI stating that the company has no intention to exit the high-end smartphone market. It is worth mentioning that this is not the first time as one source told Reuters that such rumour has been heard back in September 2020.

Selling HONOR was a good idea as the brand has now regained its freedom to use technology and services from the US. Therefore, many would think that HUAWEI could be doing the same to help P and Mate series escape from the sanctions. For now, as HUAWEI has refuted the news, let's just hope that the company has figured a way out to keep its premium smartphone lines going for as long as they can last.
