China Unicom Beijing, Sinobo, GTVerse, and HUAWEI held the "5G Capital on the Way – Lighting Up Beijing with 5G-Advanced " event to announce the launch of the world's first large-scale 5G-Advanced smart network. So, what should you know about it?
The network supports the 5G-Advanced smart commercial complex at the Workers' Stadium with a combination of high and low bands by using many 3CC 5G-Advanced sites inside and outside the stadium, supporting a 10-gigabit network with the widest frequency range in the world.
Field tests recorded a peak download rate of 11.2 Gbps and an upload rate of 4 Gbps, allowing up to 68,000 viewers to watch 1080p video simultaneously seamlessly. China Unicom Beijing and HUAWEI have built a large-scale commercial three-carrier component (3CC) 5G-Advanced network in Beijing, covering stadiums, schools, tourist areas, metro stations, commercial areas, and residences.
The network provides full 5G coverage and 85% 5G-Advanced coverage within Beijing's Fourth Ring Road and Beijing Municipal Administration Center. It supports services such as immersive video, UHD live streaming, and cloud gaming. Old public telephones are also upgraded and connected to this network, allowing users to easily access navigation, e-hailing services, or emergency calls, thus benefiting many city dwellers.
