Huawei has shared official images of the Maextro S800, which is being marketed as the largest electric luxury sedan (EV) for the Chinese market. Maextro is another EV sub-brand of Huawei, developed in collaboration with JAC. So, what should you know about it?
For your information, it was first shown in November last year, but details about it were not announced. In the latest images, the front grille design and tyre rims have changed. The Maextro S800 is 5,480 mm long, making it larger than the Nio ET9 (5,325 mm) and Maybach S-class (5,469 mm). It is offered in two models: a full EV with two electric motors and 852 horsepower.
Moreover, the EREV model has 1,006 horsepower and a 1.5-litre gasoline engine that generates power for the three electric motors when the battery runs out. The EV model weighs 2731 kg, while the EREV model weighs 2859 kg. In a video shared by Huawei, the S800 has the ability to self-drive to find a nearby charging point. Upon arriving at the charging point, the robot arm will automatically insert the charging head without any human intervention.
In addition, Huawei has not yet announced the official launch date for the Maextro S800, but it is estimated to cost between 1 and 1.5 million RMB (RM 610K and RM 916K) each.
