HUAWEI has long been rumoured to be working on an updated version of its clamshell foldable smartphone the HUAWEI P50 Pocket. Now, the Chinese tech giant has finally made the rumours official, announcing that a new foldable named the Pocket S will be launched in China on 2 November 2022.
Taking to its official Weibo account, HUAWEI teased the upcoming foldable in a teaser video, though it did not outright show the design of the upcoming clamshell smartphone. Instead, we only got to see outlines of the clamshell design as well as the various colour options that it will be offered in.
Specifically, the Pocket S will come in black, blue, white, pink, green and yellow colour options. The teaser video also announced the launching event of the device, which is at 7pm local time in China on 2 November 2022.
As of right now, there is no official information regarding the new foldable’s specs and features. However, based on rumours, the Pocket S may feature a 120Hz OLED foldable display and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G SoC.
Well, we’ll just have to wait until 2 November to know the official specs of the device. Let’s see if this foldable clamshell smartphone can compete with other foldable devices in the market.
