Huawei has been working hard to develop HarmonyOS 2.0 and some results are starting to show. As it's still in beta, only selected Huawei devices to have access to it. But now the company is expanding the list of devices in the second beta phase so that more developers can test the OS.

According to ITHome (in Chinese), the second beta phase for Harmony 2.0 is now open to developers. Seven more Huawei devices now have access to the beta, including the Nova 6, Nova 6 5G, Nova 7 5G, Nova 7 Pro 5G, Nova 8, Nova 8 Pro, and MatePad 10.8. The signup period for the beta ends on 17 May 2021, so there's still some time.

However, Huawei will give priority to developers that already have apps on the Huawei App Store, as slots for the beta phase are limited. The company will provide the latter group with a DevEco Studio's cloud simulator to start testing. Developers can also register for OTA updates, which should make updates more convenient in the future.

The OS is expected to launch next month, so it's good to see some progress on the beta tests. Having said that, what are your thoughts on HarmonyOS 2.0 so far? Let us know in the comments below, and stay tuned to TechNave for more news like this.
