Huawei recently unveiled their long-rumoured HarmonyOS not too long ago, claiming that it is the first “microkernel distributed OS” which can be installed in many different devices including smartphones, smart TVs, smartwatches, vehicles and more. With all that being said, Richard Yu Chengdong claims that it only takes one or two days to port over existing Android apps to the HarmonyOS ecosystem.

Not only that, but thanks to the Ark compiler, the aforementioned apps could run faster on the HarmonyOS compared to the Android ecosystem. The largest contribution to the performance boost, is due to the fact that the HarmonyOS uses the Ark Compiler instead of an interpreter. In other words, the Ark compiler is able to process the programming code faster compared to Android’s implementation.

With all that being said, the largest hurdle that the HarmonyOS has to overcome is getting the masses to adopt the new operating system by Huawei. What do you think of Huawei’s HarmonyOS? Let us know on our Facebook page and for more updates like this, stay tuned to TechNave.com.
