Sony’s hit co-op sci-fi shooter Helldivers 2 is officially coming to Xbox Series X|S on 26 August 2025, making it the first PlayStation-published title to arrive on Xbox.
The game will be available in two editions: the Standard Edition priced at around RM173 (USD 39.99), and the Super Citizen Edition for approximately RM260 (USD 59.99).
Finally, it's on Xbox
Originally released on 8 February 2024 for PlayStation 5 and PC, Helldivers 2 quickly became a hit with fans thanks to its fast-paced gameplay, satirical tone, and cooperative missions.
Xbox players can now join the battle and enjoy full cross-platform play with users on PlayStation and PC. If this game caught your interest, you might want to read our review here
What is Helldivers 2 about?
Developed by Arrowhead Game Studios and published by PlayStation Studios, Helldivers 2 is a third-person shooter that blends teamwork with explosive combat.
The game features a live-service structure and throws players into chaotic alien warzones where cooperation is key to survival.
Sony’s decision to release the game on Xbox marks a notable shift in its publishing strategy.
While Helldivers 2 will be available through the Xbox Store, Xbox players will not be required to log in with a PlayStation Network account—a reversal from Sony’s earlier attempt to mandate PSN login for PC players, which was scrapped after community backlash.
The inclusion of cross-play ensures a larger multiplayer community, and Xbox players will have access to all updates and content available on other platforms at launch. Pre-orders are already live on the Xbox Store.
