Here's how to check the nearest EV charging stations on your Waze app

In case you didn't know, you can now find nearby EV charging stations on your Waze app. To turn it on, you just need to visit 'Vehicles details' on the Settings page and then tap on 'Electric Vehicles'. From there, you can choose whichever EV charging station type that you prefer.

That being said, sources say that Google did not list Malaysia as one of the supported countries for this new feature. While Lifestyle Tech could enable this feature, this probably means the feature is being rolled out in phases for Malaysians. This feature was first introduced in March last year but for overseas.

As you can see in the screenshots, you can choose the different types of EV charging plugs for your EV car. This includes Tesla, GB/T, Type 2 - Mennekes and many more. Once you're done selecting, you can visit your navigation page, find EV charging and a list of them will appear. Google also listed a 5-star rating beside each charging station.

By the way, you can select all of the plug points at the same time but since each EV has its own charging station, you can just choose the latter. Also, if you switch between your EV and ICE (internal combustion engine) car, you will need to manually switch the settings in the app.
