Here's the timetable by Digi of shutting down the 3G network in Malaysia

By now, some of you have heard the news of 3G services shutting down. Maxis has already begun the process and soon it will be Digi's turn. According to the schedule, it will begin from December 2021 onwards in different states with a different timeslot.

From the table below, you can see that Kelantan, Pahang and Terengganu will start first on 6 December 2021. This is followed by Sabah on 13 December 2021, then to the Southern, Northern and Central of Semenanjung Malaysia. Sarawak will be the last state to shut down 3G services on 30 December 2021.

Digi recommends every subscriber activate the VoLTE and VoWiFi first before 31 December 2021. This is in line with the JENDELA program by the Malaysian government in transitioning to 5G in due time. You can also head over to the official website here to check how to activate VoLTE but do note that only a handful of devices support it. Otherwise, you will just have to subscribe to a new postpaid plan.
